This month in our Level 1 (12-24m) Class we are learning the importance of musical predictability—specifically through consistent rhythms, patterns, and songs! When we learn to imitate a sound such as a frog croak, then demo that sound on an instrument like this Guiro, followed by leaping like a frog in another movement activity.. we are building layers of learning and predictability. Singing the same routines and ritual songs every week again and again for Hello and Goodbye and transitions are also a part of this vital secure tool for developing children’s minds and self-regulation. They become part of the fragrance of your days, your weeks together!
Predictable, routine-based music acts as a soothing force that reduces stress, creates a sense of safety, and helps children navigate daily transitions outside of the Kindermusik experience.
Attending a weekly Kindermusik class becomes a favorite routine, something you and your child both look forward to.
